2018 Rose Bowl Mixed Doubles Tournament @ West Heaton

11 Representative couples gathered at West Heaton to compete for the lovely Rose Bowl, one couple had to withdraw due to illness. Split into two divisions they each played 9 (or 7) games to establish divisional rankings. The resultant was that each ranking couple of one division played a “multi-final” against their equivalent ranked opposition of the other division. The Rose Bowl Trophy was contested between the two top ranked couples of either division. In the Grand Final Bramhall Lane couple James Turner and Katie Sidell defeated the Prestbury couple of Simon Darmon and Jennifer Grayston in an adsorbing and very high standard match. The North East Cheshire Winter Tennis League


Welcome to the website for the North-East Cheshire Lawn Tennis League. Founded in 1953, the league is located in and around Stockport (south of Manchester), most clubs being situated within an eight mile radius of Bramhall (Stockport). There are forty-one clubs involved, having teams in eighteen divisions; eight ladies' divisions and ten men's divisions.

Matches are played from the middle of April through to the end of July, allowing a further fortnight's grace to cover any postponements for bad weather. Mid-week matches commence at 6:30 p.m. and are played to a completion or to a specified finishing time not later than 10 p.m. Where clubs agree, week-end matches are also played.
